Scholarships Awarded to Area Students

The Shoals Mustangs Club hosted the 2018 Tool Scholarship Dinner, Saturday, May 10th, at Ralph Stumpe's Coral.  Members and guests enjoyed barbecue and fixings prior to awarding tool scholarships to five students selected by their instructors.

Students selected include: from Muscle Shoals Career Academy - Patrick Saint of Sheffield and Devon Alan Looney of Tuscumbia; from Allen Thornton Career Technical Center - Pierre Gonzalez of Town Creek and James Hood of Anderson; and from Wayne County Tennessee Technology Center - Jason Staggs of Waynesboro.

Since 2011 Shoals Mustangs has awarded scholarships to support graduating high school students in the shoals area that have shown outstanding performance during their vocational training and are interested in pursuing careers in the automotive and/or mechanical fields.

The club works with the automotive technology section of three area schools - Muscle Shoals Career Academy, Allen Thornton Career Technical Center and Wayne County Technology Center - in the selection process.

In addition, students are given tool kits to help get them on their way. Presentation of these scholarships takes place at our monthly meeting in May.  Extreme Auto Design in Muscle Shoals helps sponsor this project.
